Apartment Complex in Coney Island, NY
Living close to the beach means you do not have to wait for the weekend to enjoy it. At 1515 Surf Mdern Apartments, Coney Island Beach and Boardwalk are an easy walk from home, putting the waterfront within reach whenever you want to get outside.
Our one-bedroom, junior two-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments give you a modern home base on Surf Avenue. With the beach nearby and four subway lines a short walk away, you can enjoy living by the water without feeling cut off from the rest of Brooklyn and Manhattan.
Make Coney Island Beach Part of Your Day
When the beach is about a seven-minute walk from home, you can enjoy it without turning every visit into an outing. Walk toward West 16th Street and the boardwalk for a morning walk, a few hours by the water, or some fresh air after work.
The boardwalk gives you another reason to head toward the waterfront outside the summer months. You can walk or run along the nearly three-mile stretch even when it is not beach weather, so living near the shore has value throughout the year.
Beach lockers and showers are also among the amenities at 1515 Surf. We give residents a practical place to deal with beach gear and sand before heading back upstairs, subject to current amenity access.
Walk About Three Minutes to Four Subway Lines
Coney Island–Stillwell Avenue station is about a three-minute walk from our community, giving you access to the D, F, N, and Q trains. Having four lines nearby gives you more options when work, appointments, or plans take you beyond Coney Island.
Take the F directly to Jay Street–MetroTech, or use the D, N, or Q to reach Atlantic Avenue–Barclays Center. You can also reach Manhattan destinations such as Herald Square, Bryant Park, Union Square, and Times Square without changing trains.
Late-night and weekend service can vary, so check the MTA for current service before you travel.
Handle Everyday Errands Close to Home
Surf Avenue is useful for more than getting to the beach. You can grab coffee or breakfast at Milk & Honey Cafe in our building, while Footprints Café is nearby on Surf Avenue. That gives you a couple of easy options without heading farther into Brooklyn.
For groceries, prescriptions, and other basics, Mermaid Avenue is another useful part of the neighborhood. Fine Fare Supermarket and pharmacy options are within walking distance, making it possible to handle many everyday errands without getting on the subway.
Amenities That Fit Life by the Beach
Some of our amenities are especially useful when the waterfront is part of your day. Beach lockers and showers give you space to deal with sandy gear before heading upstairs, while the Ocean Deck and outdoor pool let you spend more time outside without leaving the building.
You can also head to the landscaped garden for a cookout or spend time in the Sky Lounge when you would rather stay closer to home. Access to some amenities may depend on your amenity package, and outdoor spaces may have seasonal schedules, so our leasing team can explain the current options.
How Geothermal Heating and Cooling Works in Your Apartment
Our geothermal system heats and cools the building by exchanging heat with the ground through 153 wells beneath the property. In winter, the system draws on heat stored underground. During warmer months, it moves heat out of the building and back into the ground.
Inside your apartment, you control the temperature with a smart thermostat. Our apartments are also all-electric, including the appliances, so there are no on-site fossil-fuel boilers serving the building.
Your actual utility costs depend on your apartment and usage. Our leasing team can explain which utilities you are responsible for before you sign a lease.
Explore Coney Island Beyond the Beach
Living in Coney Island puts some of the neighborhood’s best-known places close to home. You can visit the New York Aquarium, catch a Brooklyn Cyclones game at Maimonides Park, or head to Luna Park when its seasonal attractions are open.
These places also make the neighborhood feel different throughout the year. Baseball games, aquarium visits, and seasonal events give you reasons to stay local, while Surf Avenue keeps many of Coney Island’s familiar destinations within the same part of the neighborhood.
